Abstract

Abstract
The FastTRAC project brought together scientists, foresters and economists from the Canadian Wood Fibre Centre, Laval University, FPInnovations, the Government of Québec, J.D. Irving, and the New Brunswick Tree Improvement Council. They demonstrated tree genomic-assisted selection at the operational scale and highlighted the economic benefits of FastTRAC technology.

Abstract
The production of conifer seedlings for reforestation uses genetic improvement techniques that have been that have been in place for several decades. They have allowed to improve considerably the vigor and the growth of the reproduced of the reproduced species. To these techniques have been added genomic selection and somatic embryogenesis embryogenesis, two techniques made possible by scientific advances in genetics, computer science and in cell culture.
Abstract

Abstract
The production of conifer seedlings for reforestation purposes involves the use of genetic improvement techniques that have been around for the last few decades. They have greatly helped increase the hardiness and growth of propagated species. Now, there is also genomic selection and somatic embryogenesis, two techniques made possible by scientific progress in genetics, computer science and cell culture.
