Abstract
Since 2000, all tractors and trailers manufactured in Canada are required to have anti-lock braking system (ABS). It is difficult to keep these systems operational in off-highway applications such as log-hauling. The most frequent issues with these systems involve wheel-speed sensors and wiring. This guide provides a brief overview of these issues and recommends best practices for maintaining these systems.

Abstract
Maintaining acceptable machine availability and repair costs is a challenge for contractor operations where sophisticated repair support systems may not exist. This study defines the present state-of-the-art in contractor equipment maintenance through on_site interviews with a sample of contractors in Eastern Canada. Differences from traditional company maintenance operations were noted and recommendations to improve maintenance strategies have been made.

Abstract
Developing and implementing adaptation practices that reduce the negative impacts and the vulnerability of resource road infrastructure to climate change needs to be a priority for resource road managers. Ensuring that proper maintenance practices are identified and implemented is critical in obtaining resource roads that meet performance and service levels. With forecasted changes in climate, the importance of increased maintenance activities will be heightened to ensure road infrastructure resilience. This is the fifth Info Note in a series of five focused on the key issues of creating climate resilient resource roads.
