Alberta Sustainable Resource Development (ASRD) wanted to investigate mulching as a
means of reducing the fire hazard of harvesting debris piles in the eastern slopes region. ASRD also wanted to
consider cost of treatment, damage to the regenerating stand, ground disturbance, and ability to create potentially
productive sites.
