The development and use of water enhancing gel (gel) on wildfire has garnered increased interest in the past decade. Improved polymer technology and the demand for cost effective fire-control technologies have sparked this increased attention. Although gel has been around for decades there is little documented evidence regarding its capabilities as a fire control agent. This lack of information has limited the acceptance of gel products in Canada.
