This report documents the volumes of fiber harvested and left behind with two mechanized harvesting systems: a full-tree system and a cut-to-length system. Each system was observed in two 5-ha study blocks, one that had been harvested in the summer and the other harvested in winter. The full-tree system was also followed through the debarking-slashing center so as to evaluate the fiber loss incurred during mill yard handling operations, as well as during debarking and lashing. Breakage of and damage to harvested wood were also estimated for the two systems.
